cruisedancemom Posted August 29, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2014 Ship in port from 1 pm -midnight. We really want to take kids to Atlantis to do water slides. Is it worth the price? Will we have enough time? Not interested in anything there except water park. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
mjkacmom Posted August 29, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 29, 2014 I believe the slides and pools close around 5, so I'd say not worth it.

The aquarium is still open and you can walk around and see some of the other animal lagoons, like the turtles. And there's always the casino. :)
tikib Posted September 2, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 2, 2014 (edited) Looks like you're going during Xmas week. Keep in mind, it will be dark by 5pm, so there will be nothing to do or see outdoors. Since it's Xmas week, you may have a problem just "wandering around", since security can gets very tight when it's crowded. As for things to do after 5pm, The casino is open, but it's adults only, There's a movie theatre as well, which will be mobbed during the holiday. If you purchase some type of pass, you would be able to check out the decoration in the lobbies, but if not, don't be surprised if you don't get in the door. The Marina Village is open to the public and should be decked out for the holidays. They usually have entertainment as well. It's an outdoor "courtyard", so the kids will be able to enjoy it as well. cruisedancemom Posted September 8, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted September 8, 2014 Thanks for the replies. So if we decided we wanted to go anyway, and got there around 2, do we have to check in somewhere or just go right over to the slides? Exactly where are is the water park area when you get to the property? Is it close? ARe the lines long for the slides in early November?
mjkacmom Posted September 8, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 8, 2014 The lines will be long, and I doubt you will find a lounger (we were there the first week of November last year, and by 10, they were taken). We've done it through CS and the cruise line, so I don't know where you go to buy wristbands, but it's probably a 10 minute walk to the slides when you get there. The property is huge, so make sure you have a map before you go, and know where you want to go.
mericker Posted September 17, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) Yes it is expensive but do what you want as you never know if you will get another chance...that being said we only had 2 1/2 hours in the Aquaventure as it rained most of the day we were there (09/12/14). Eat pizza, went through the aquarium and digs. Weather cleared up so we went out to do the big slides and hit the not so lazy river (rapids and waves). My 7 year old son loved the river and you can do a couple slides with the tubes...don't have to get out they have a belt drive system that pulls you up and send you down the slides. It took about 20-25 minutes to do the full river loop so we got about 4 trips around. Was worth it to us but wished we had more time...hopefully the next time. Remember, unless you are doing free things it always costs money to do most things there so it a matter of paying a little more to do something you want. Fourseventeen Posted September 17, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 17, 2014 for the time you will be in port....save your money. Park closes at sunset so you wont get much time to spend in the park...and you really could easily spend all day there and not get bored, well at least I can and I have been there many times. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Forums mobile app Since sunset is at 6:56pm, the beach will be closed around 6:30, and the slides around 6. As the days get shorter, the park will close earlier. As dusk approaches, they shut down.
