Cruise Cash vs. Cruise Cash Bar?

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps answer my question..

We are cruising the Breeze November 8th and are trying to save money to enjoy ourselves while on board.

We have a seperate bank account set aside but something always pops up and we aren't doing too well so far. :-P

I see that you can purchase Cruise Cash with Carnival and it automatically puts it on your Sail & Sign account.

For us, I think that's the best bet right now..

Just buy a little here and there, and chip away at it.

I have a few questions for anyone who has used Cruise Cash.

We intend on buying the Cheers! package, gambling a little and doing the steakhouse for dinner one night.

With that said..

What is the difference between Cruise Cash and Cruise Cash Bar?

Is the Bar, just for drinks and Cruise Cash for anything including Cheers!, gambling and steakhouse?

Also, are the funds on the account when you first board the ship?

I understand that the Cruise Cash in non refundable, so do they take your purchases from that before any regular cash that you put on your Sail & Sign account?

Lastly, if we decide to book an excursion while onboard, will the Cruise Cash cover it?

Again, thanks in advance!

Cruise cash covers everything, Cruise bar only covers drinks. I don't even know why they have it.

It is available as soon as you board.

Cruise cash is just like putting cash on your account during check in.

As you know it is non refundable so If you have some left just cash out in the casino the last night.

Cruise Cash-Bar is 'item specific', so would only be used for bar/beverage purchases. In my opinion CCB should not even exist, as it really serves no purpose, since the regular Cruise Cash can cover everything.

It will be on your account at embarkation, but might not show up on your visual account until later in the day, or Day 2.

If all goes as it 'should' . . . items will be charged to your Cruise Cash (or any onboard credit) before using any cash or credit card you offered for onboard charges. On occasion this doesn't get done correctly, but it's rare.

Enjoy your cruise!! :)

I do the same as you OP, some time before the cruise I'll buy a few hundred dollars worth of cruise cash (Never bar cash or their ugly little sister photo cash lol)

I know it'll cover the grats, some drinks and maybe a couple of coffees and steakhouse so I won't have to worry about my credit card bill afterwards!!

If you have a load left over, you can go do a slot or two in the casino and cash it out. No big deal.

On our last cruise we had OBC, cruise cash and a cash deposit at check-in. They did a good job of pulling purchases off the cruise cash first, then OBC, then finally the actual cash.

It did make me nervous when we boarded, though - the cruise cash didn't appear on our account. We went to Guest Services and they could see it, but didn't appear on our account view until the next day.
