Celebrity in the Caribbean - To Tux or not to Tux - that is the question?

If you like formalwear then go ahead as you definitely won't be the only ones. However, I will admit the number of tuxes and fancy dresses on formal nights are slowly dwindling. Maybe the desire to reduce luggage and the trend in our society to more casual wear are the reasons. We don't care - we enjoy getting dressed up on formal nights - to each their own.

I will no longer take a tux for a short cruise but will for a longer one.

It's not just the weight and packing problems but the trend.

I am truly looking forward to the time when ties join the styles of a bygone age...

coming soon to a ship near everyone.

Smart casual everyday.... on a Celebrity ship of course.

14 nights on the Eclipse and my cutie pie husband wore his tux all three formal nights with different shirts, ties and his dinner jacket with the tux slacks. He looked so handsome and it is one of the BEST parts of cruising in my book. Ahhh - call me a romantic but I love it!

Mr Sloop likes Smart Casual best... But he isn't beyond dressing up in Formalwear when the occasion / dress code requires it.

He is tho, not a fan of a tie either.

Good news is ties are not required by Celebrity... ever.

Although a tux without one, is certainly "missing something" ;)

Cheers!

Can any one advise how dressy a cruise in the Caribbean on Celebrity is likely to be on a formal night?

We enjoy dressing up in a tux etc, but will we be the only two?

It won't make much difference to the luggage as we will still need to bring a shirt/tie/jacket etc, but then again we dont want to look like a couple of muppets if everyone else has turned up in shirt sleeves

Thanks ...

First of all, those that keep track is their problem. Do as you wish.

PS in Caribe, I do not. Just too warm (and that's a good thing)
