Silhouette Cabins with Partially Obstructed View

We are considering verandah rooms 6292 and 6294 which are partially obstructed. We need two rooms and the next step up is another $250 per room for unobstructed rooms.

Any opinions on these rooms? I spoke to Celebrity and they said that they are overlooking lifeboats if you look down.

But if you are sitting on the balcony, do you still get the same balcony "feel?"

Thanks!

I had a partial obstruction on Silhouette last summer. I can't remember the cabin number but we were directly over Qsine and the roof of the restaurant stuck straight out like an extension of the balcony. Couldn't see down, but when sitting could see the ocean just fine. Wonderful ship. Have fun!

Sure you get the balcony feel but a level or two up is much better. The top of the lifeboat is equal to the floor of your balcony and you won't be able to look down to the water.

I don't think 6292 and 6294 do overlook the lifeboats, so Celebrity may be giving you wrong info....these two cabins are almost at the very rear of the ship, and I think are over Qsine. So, not much of a view of the water below. We were in 6246 recently, and the view wasn't bad at all....you could see water between the tenders and water beyond the tender roof. Saved a lot of money and still got the advantages of having a balcony cabin.

Otherwise, a gorgeous ship!

Possibly check out some pictures they might work without the lifeboat being directly next to the view.

The last 8 cabins on deck 6 have blue roof extension of restaurant below going out maybe 12 ft. You can't see water directly down, just blue roof. Horizontally, view is fine otherwise.

These cabins have veranda almost 2 ft DEEPER than decks 7 and higher. We have had one already and picked 6298 for Dec. So, lowest price balcony cabin, deeper balcony (easy lounge chair fit), just can't see water directly along side ship. We like them.

My description unclear? How about a pic?

Thanks, greydog! Never knew this tidbit about S-class ships. We lucked into a SS1 on deck 6 of the Silhouette last year (6306) which also had the extension of the restaurant below us. Plus all the Sunset Verandas on Deck 6 also overlook the blue roof. Those cabins go for far more than those aft 2C's!

And Cap't Club members can book 2C cabins for 2D pricing:D.
