nepacruisers Posted October 12, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2014 I've noticed that this category has not been selling out quickly. Is it because they are a little more expensive or is there something else that people haven't liked about location or another negative that I don't see. Would appreciate any input from those who have sailed in this category about their likes and dislikes. Thanks in advance.

Would appreciate any input from those who have sailed in this category about their likes and dislikes. Thanks in advance. We had it on the Getaway, and there was nothing to dislike. After seeing those small balconies in person, there is no way we'd ever book a regular balcony cabin on the *away ships. Location is great, and the balcony is beyond great! bear3412 Posted October 12, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 12, 2014 Yes, pax are scared to commit to a wonderful extended B6 balcony. Often Humans have issues. This can assist others in cabin assignments though. ... lol. Few would ever question a B6 though. Did you happen to see this noise? https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1QYTwqysC_zUyLvlEn-xEs4zmK0q6O2I1sqEeP7bP314/pub?start=true&loop=true&delayms=5000#slide=id.gd3e3d6ae_00 HTH

Did you see full loungers in pics on a B6? Not sure if full loungers will fit on a B6 balcony. If you saw some in pics then you can always ask your room host once aboard. Although I have a suspicion the balconies are too small even though one lounger may be able to squeeze on there, they prefer not to have them on the B6's, IMO. *Luv2Cruz* Posted October 12, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 12, 2014 Here's some stats on the sizes by category! Hope this helps!:)
cruisin07family Posted October 12, 2014 #7 Share Posted October 12, 2014 I love large balconies and did choose a B6 on Epic but I wouldn't choose a B6 on Breakaway or Getaway because I don't like that they are exposed and so far forward. On Breakaway I have chosen one of the angled balconies as they are somewhat larger although nowhere near the size of the balcony we had on Epic which was HUGE, something like 9' X 12'. And are quite comfortable. Had two of them on Getaway and there was still a ton of room on the balcony. You may need to get them to remove some pieces of furniture however. Originally we had two loungers, two chairs, and a table. There wasn't room for all of that. One request to your host and they will clear it out for you. Only issue we had was that the balconies are open on the front to those above. As a result we had drinks spilled on us during sailaway, got pelted with bread leaving St. Thomas (idiots feeding the birds), and had broken glass on our balcony one morning. Otherwise then those small issues I would be quite happy booking the category again.

Les_Bill Posted October 12, 2014 #10 Share Posted October 12, 2014 9132 on the Breakaway was plenty big enough for 2 loungers, 1 chair, and a table. Half the balcony was covered and half was open. We would take this cabin again, loved it!

We're on the same sailing (howdy!) and just upgraded into 9730 from a regular balcony for no charge due to a price drop. We're excited to have the extra room, and we will definitely be requesting loungers. DH likes to nap in the room, so now I can take my naps out in the fresh air. ncklhaus Posted October 13, 2014 #12 Share Posted October 13, 2014 We are on the Breakaway next Sunday in a B6 8130. Do you have to request the lounge chairs for your balcony? Are you in a B6 or an M6? 8130 is an M6, I just left it yesterday. And I will never book anything but an M6 ever again. It was fabulous!

We have a M6 for the Jan. 4th, this catogory is sold out except showing 1 guarentee, for a few weeks now my plan is once on board, to ask for 4 loungers, 2 chairs, 2 tables... (well I don't need them right away) lol... will be a bit chilly. Love the space! covered and uncovered!

We were thinking about making the switch, but we love the location of our current cabin. Even though we would love the extra balcony space, we don't like the exposed balconies. So it was 2 to 1 to stay put. Thanks to everyone for the responses, it really helped us to make our decision.

This is only my second cruise and all the different categories is really confusing. Did you get priority embarkation with this cabin? No priority for the M6. We arrived at the pier at 10:00 am and received boarding #5. First boarding after VIP, Casinos at sea, etc. 8130 has 2 lounge chairs, 2 regular chairs and a large table on the balcony. The room steward Louisa is absolutely wonderful! Ask her ASAP for a mattress topper for the bed, its extremely hard and the topper really helps. Please tell her the Nickl family says hello and big hugs from my daughter Melissa. I have pictures of the room and balcony if you'd like to see them. Oh and the shower was one of the best at sea. I never really understood the folks who make a big deal over the balcony being partially uncovered. You're certainly not covered on the pool deck, or while eating dinner, or walking around .... and hey, if someone wants to stare down at my huge balcony while they sit on their tiny, cramped one - more power to them!
