Royal's Post cruise/tour/airport drop off question

Has anyone done a ship tour at the end of your Royal Caribbean cruise where after the tour they drop you off at the airport?

 

I am assuming your luggage tours with you on the bus and they drop you off at your terminal. And you still have to deal with your luggage and get your own passes. Or is it like the luggage valet where you put your luggage outside your door the night before and you don't see your luggage again until you get home ?

 

would appreciate any info. fyi We are looking at the Vancover post cruise tour

You put your luggage out the night before you disembark, and claim it again in the terminal. On our Liberty cruise our bags traveled with us in the bus.

 

It was also the most disorganized process I have ever seen. There was a couple of Royal/X ships that disembarked that day and anyone who picked that tour from the 3 ships were on the same tour as us. That part wasn't a big deal. The fact that there was no communication on the two other ships about where to meet was the issue. We waited outside an X ship for 30 minutes before the passengers arrived at our bus. Then the headed to another Royal ship and waited almost 2 hours for that group to get to us. Nobody knew anything, or had any information as to when we were going to get going.

 

The experience just re-affirmed that I would never take a ship sponsored excursion again.

The luggage handling varies by excursion. We've been on excursions where the luggage stays with us on the same bus, and others where the luggage travels to the airport in another vehicle. Both excursions required us to transport the luggage into the airport outselves.

I have once found my luggage in a huge pile in front of the airport. Like Bob said sometimes in goes in the bus and sometimes it travel to the airport in a truck.
