After roaming around we went to the aft pool, Mom ordered a fancy drink to match her ensemble

DSC04429-vi.jpg

It was really hot. We did not stay out there too long, plus the same man was stationed in the pool, and security was keeping a watchful eye. No fun!

We went to the cabin to cool off, did i mention it was crazy hot and humid out?

This was the first time ordering actual room service.

Mom got a BLT, she said it was really great.

DSC04432-vi.jpg

I got the roast beef (no longer available) , it was just alright, the bread seemed under baked.

DSC04433-vi.jpg

We ordered veggies that did not come.

And cake to share...

After dinner, off to Alchemy Bar!

The Deal Closer. I think I had 2 of those for dessert since the S'mores parfait was a letdown.

I can't remember what we did otherwise that night, either a show or comedy. The shows were pretty good this cruise, and that says a lot because I don't usually like them. They just remind me of Kings Dominion or Busch Gardens. There was a killer show band though, and they made a difference.

I;ll try and work on this some more Friday night or over the weekend, I'll pull out the Fun Times and see what we did at night for entertainment.

I just want to apologize for abandoning this review of mine. My father fell very ill and I was not able to concentrate or focus. Sadly he passed away last week. I am hoping to resume very soon. Having a problem with photos showing properly.

I was following along on your review when you first started and really enjoying it. We were also on Liberty in April 2014 and loved her, she's a beautiful ship and love the pictures you got. I took a lot on our cruise but I still need practice on the interior pictures. I believe I read another review of yours and remember that you had some beautiful pictures in that one as well (your food porn is really making me hungry right now) and I remembered feeling like I was on the cruise. I just want to let you know how sorry I am, for you, your mom, and all of your family, on the recent loss of your father.

Thanks so much for picking up where i left off. I love all your reviews. I really love the areal photos from the plane in your Liberty review! Interior photos are hard with the different lighting and such, i try a few of the same shots with different settings and hope one will turn out. I don't always remember to do that though, haha.

Thanks for the kind words about my Dad, sadly he did not like to cruise, had a strong dislike of the water and sea. He would have been 81 in June, many years of memories which I am so thankful for.

Alright, so where was I?

This was the day we were tendered at Grand Cayman. Going back to the start of this review, we ended up with a change in itinerary, we were supposed to go to Nassau, St. Thomas, St. Marteen, and we had lots of wonderful plans for both St. Thomas and St. Marteen that we will have to plan another cruise to accomplish, but due to Hurricane Gonzalo plans changed. Any ship that was calling on those places, as well as Puerto Rico were being diverted and rerouted, so there were lots of ships around us.

Again, Mom does not care for tender ports unless it is HMC, so even though going to Grand Cayman might have been nice, with the volume of ships in port, and no plans, we decided to continue enjoying the ship itself, and so on we go.

For breakfast we hit up the Lido buffet. I actually like the breakfast buffet, there is a lot of variety if you look for it. I love to get some fruit, so nice i don't have to cut it up myself, lol.

I just love this little guy....

The aft pool was so quiet and empty....

DSC04507-vi.jpg

For those who have yet to have the pleasure of sailing on Liberty, the aft pool is adults only, kids are of course welcome in the area, just not in the pool, and it is most definitely enforced.

There is a bar, the pizza joint, and an ice cream station and coffee. The only thing missing is the water/lemonade, but it is not far at all from one of the lido dining rooms where there is a beverage station. There are fewer bar waiots roaming on port days, but we never had a problem with lack of service and all of the bar waiters were great, very attentive and helpful.

We hung out by the pool most of the day, it was pretty hot again so we took a few dips in the pool since it was mostly empty and the man who stayed in the pool all day was not there, lol. We stayed in the shady areas. Since we were in port there was no problem with chairs.

Later in the day when everyone was coming back, all of that changed.

When things started getting really busy, we went to the room for some R & R. That was right about the time she ship started to pull away from Grand Cayman...

This was cruise elegant night and so after R & R and hanging out, we got ready and went on to dinner.

A few words about YTD. We LOVE it. You CAN request to be seated in the same area with the same wait staff team every night. And we did. So the firdt night service sucked, but the second night we knew we would request to be seating with Bobby every night. We always had a table for 2, no problem, and we either had no wait, or a wait of 15 minutes or less. When we were asked to wait, it was worth it for the great service, and we would just go to the lobby and have a glass of wine while we waited. Something we figured out also with YTD, if you go later, say 7:30, 8ish, you dont usualy have a wait, and the waitors seem less rushed and you can actually talk and get to know them a little. If you go at 5:30, expect a wait.

Here is a photo Mom took of our team, not a very good photo, but they were singing and swaying and dancing, which was hilarious. The man on the right was ALWAYS smiling. Always! His smile was infectious!

For dinner I had the navy bean soup, so good.

DSC04585-vi.jpg

The main dish...

DSC04586-vi.jpg

Dessert for me was butter pecan ice cream...

DSC04587-vi.jpg

Mom had the Grand Marnier Soufflé and i was very jealous when i tasted it. I was offered to go get one for me, but I was full.

After dinner, as was are new habit, we went straight for the Alchemy Bar. Love love!

The Perfect Storm, minus the rosemary sprig.

The funny thing is, on my first cruise on Liberty in October 2013, I was was my [then] boyfriend and we did not go to Alchemy Bar even 1 time. Here my 73 year old Mom and I are having 3 or 4 drinks there each and every night.

We did go to the show "Just Rock," then we went to the late adult comedy with Derrick Eason, we did not particularly like him.

Back to Alchemy, of all the drinks we tried there, only 1 of them we cringed at. I can't remember what it was called, but if you go, and order something, just ask if it is lavender color, then change your order. This was the Cheers advantage. If you don't like something, no big deal.

We LOVED Nachi Cocum when we went to Cozumel in 2013 on Legend. The moment they announced the change and that we were going to Cozumel, we did consider going online right away and trying to book it because the taxi drivers won't take you there without a reservation and they are limited to 100 guests a day, but we were enjoying the feel of not having to be anywhere, so we decided to indeed stay on the ship.

We woke up to another amazing sunrise ....

After running around the ship, we went up to the aft pool and settled in. It did briefly start to rain, and they closed the retractable roof.

It did not rain for long, and they were able to open it back up pretty soon.

For lunch, I wanted to try a burrito, everyone seems to love them. I did not, but the tacos were awesome. I ate less than half of this, maybe the tortilla was just old or dry, it just did not work for me.

DSC04770-vi.jpg

Mom got a sandwich from the deli...she said it was awesome.

DSC04772-vi.jpg

We selected a few desserts to try, again, we did not care for the desserts but we tried. The cookied and the mini cupcake were good, the other two cake thingies, not good.

After lunch we went to the cabin to see what the conditions were like on the balcony. It was very hot and humid, so I snapped some pics then I think we took naps.

Dinner time...

This man was the ship's magician, and he was a SCREAM! He performed for us several times throughout the cruise, at the Alchemy Bar, in the dining room. We loved him.

DSC04812-vi.jpg

More dancing and singing....

DSC04813-vi.jpg

I can't remember the flat bread tonight, but I do remember that it was much better than the one from the other one I had earlier in the cruise.

Tacos for dinner, they were decent.

DSC04817-vi.jpg

For dessert, Mom had this, can't remember its name but I remember neither of us liked it.

DSC00373-vi.jpg

I got the cheesecake, and I think we both had a bit each, not so good.

Tonight was the Mexican Fiesta, but we stayed at the bar and had a blast chatting with a bunch of folks from Pennsylvania who were traveling together, 3 couples, they were great! There was comedy too, but we were having our own fun and laughs.
