Breakaway drop offs

Sorry if this has been asked before. I am getting dropped off. How do I go about this. Do you still pay to just be dropped off?

Not if the person just lets you out and keeps going.

No. You just get dropped off at the curb just like you would at the airport. Give your luggage to the porter and tip him then off to check in. Just make sure you go to the check in lane. I believe they have a seperate lane for the parking lot.
