Shawls and Ponchos

Recommended Posts

Shawls and ponchos are extremely popular this year and I thought they would be great for those nights on the boat if your chilled. Found a great website that sells them and are quite reasonable.

Hi,

I recently purchased one of these shawls and they are a great quality and shipping was superfast. Price was right also. I am looking to buy another one but just can't decide which color. I plan I taking it with me on my next cruise. They also look great with jeans and perfect for shopping when that air conditioning is on in the stores.

When DH and I were at Penn Dutch country a couple of weeks ago, one of the outlet stores were selling these. I bought a pink one that slips over your head, and it is really nice looking. Kind of retro

Those are great looking shawls. I just have to decide which color(s) I want!
I found another site, www.magicscarf.com, that has scarf/shawl type things & also beaded triangle scarves. I bought 2 of them. They change an average top or dress into evening apparel...good for formal night. I was amazed at how inexpensive they were because I saw them in an upscale shop on Cape Cod for much much more.

Hi! I'm near the Gap, not that far from you! I knit, and plan on bringing a shawl/scarf to knit on board, and one to wear. They are really easy to make, and fast, too! That way, you can save some money, and learn something new too. Just a suggestion.

These are great fashion items. I have several some are ligtweight knit material and some are more dressy type of material. i wear the knit ones with jeans or pants, and the ligter ones look great with dress capri's

I have bought all of mine for between 15-20 dollars a piece at my local mall. the stores are called rainbow and fashion cents.

Ladies

I've just found www.shawlsetc.com and ordered their corn-silk faux pashmina. I'll let you know in a few days if it's as gorgeous as it looks. If it is, it'll be purrrrfect for my evenings in the Med next month...!!!

The faux pashmina shawls shown in the link above look just like the ones that were in the gift shop onboard the Paradise last week for $10! They had lots of colors but I noticed the black sold out early in the week. My friend bought one and used it most nights as she was usually cold on the ship.

The Miami airport also has one of these "$10 Stores" where everything in the store is $10...they also had the shawls. Both the airport and onboard shops also sold lots of jewlery, purses and hats...all for $10.

I bought a few shawls a while ago (they actually came onto the recent fashion scene at least a couple years ago, but have been popularized by their appearance on various TV shows (mostly on MTV, i.e. Newlyweds w/Jessica Simpson who lives in her shawls and also on MTV's Rich Girls where shawls were exposed as the 'next big thing' from the designers). I loved my shawls and wore them constantly for shopping and in areas where I knew I would get chilly. They were perfect for layering and I think that they would be brilliant for use in the dining rooms as I hear they can get quite chilly. Alas I won't be seen wearing mine becuase they have gotten too trendy and have since been given away to the local resale shop. (I have a problem with wearing the clothing that everyone else sees to be 'fashionable'. I have to be the 'fashion forward' person of the midwest). I honestly wish I had kept mine, but I'm finding that I have a ton of other stuff to layer if needed. All in all, I'd say that shawls are a great idea!!!
