Mekong River Tom Harper

I read here that the Russian River cruise with Tom Harper was great. Did anybody do the Mekong River with Halong Bay before and Bangkok afterwards? We are considering this trip in March 2016.

 

And also, some people reported low water levels on the Mekong with necessary bussing instead. Was that in March?

We did not make this trip with Tom Harper but we were on the Mekong from Saigon to Siem Reap in March. It is definitely the dry season and you will be bussed for the Phnom Phen to Siem Reap portion. The Tonle Sap lake will be too low to travel by boat. Be aware that it is very hot and humid in March. Our guides told us that November is the best month for this trip.
