RCCL Credit Card Rewards Dilemma - Help!

Regarding your comment on now knowing how to use the card (thus rewards) effectively...do you have any tips?

Perhaps we use our card rewards differently than others....most of the time we have found that redeeming the points for cash that can be used towards the balance of a cruise is the best thing for us. So we often will redeem 50,000 points for $500 to be used to lower the remaining balance on a cruise we have to pay.

It takes too long to reach 125,000 points to get a full companion fare off of a cruise and then, I would still have to upgrade it to the balcony classification we like, most likely.

I would rather take the cash value of the points and apply towards my payment. It works well for us.

 125,000 is a free cruise, not just a companion ticket.

Free cruise correct....to me that is as if I was the companion to my DH in the cabin.

But the value of redeeming points into cash to be applied to a cruise balance has always worked out better and faster, especially since we have to pay for the upgrade to the cabin type we want.

We use the money after we have gotten the best price for the cabin we want and all is good -- at least for us.

I can't speak for the cabin types others choose.
