Anyone off Vision recently? Time zone question

Recommended Posts

Wondering if Vision from Tampa stays on Eastern time, or changes to Central time (island time). Hoping somebody on her recently can confirm.

Also if anyone has compasses from recent sailings, that would be great too!

On Vision 11/29/14. I asked the same question. "Diamonds" did not know, or said "ship stays on ship time". Untrue the week we we on the Vision. They changed time before Honduras & after Cozumel changed back.

Actually the bolded is true. "Ship ALWAYS stays on ship time." However, "Ship time" can change. In your case, "Ship time" changed, but the ship stayed on "ship time". :D confused? :p

When they changed time (by placing cards in room) to advance & turn back your clocks. What does that mean to you?

Some sailings change ship time to match local time. Others don't. That's the best answer anyone can give anyone who asks this question.

If you're working to arrange excursions, if you've hired a good company they'll know what's going on. They are used to this. Then you just pay attention to what the Compass says on YOUR sailing, make sure you change it at the right time (I met people on Vision who changed clocks the night they got the next day's Compass...which isn't correct...change it the night of the matching day's Compass, not on the night you GET the Compass, as Compasses are a day ahead), have a watch that is set to ship time (and if they have you change, you change that watch). If ship time is different than local-where-you-are time, keep that watch on you and make sure you're getting back at the right time!

It means you aren't giggling along with the other poster.

Ship time can change, but it's still ship time. It's kind of funny when you think about it.
