zachnlucy Posted August 25, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2005 I'm trying to decide if I should take my own shampoo/conditioner. Is the stuff on the ship a good quality? Is it replenished?
ARRTrain Posted August 25, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2005 They have some kind of Euclyptus shampoo and conditioner in little cardboard dispensers. They start you with 2 or 3 of each and restock everyday. Smells good. Depends on if you want your own or not, I guess.
Baxter Posted August 25, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2005 If you generally use salon products, I would bring your own. Particularly conditioner.
donna5 Posted August 25, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 25, 2005 I agreee with Baxter on the conditioner. If you have a perm that is curly and you need conditioner to comb it out--Princess doesn't works as good.
Genessa Posted August 25, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 25, 2005 I have "processed" hair - formerly highlighted and lowlighted, now just colored, and I have had no problems at all with the conditioner. As my hair is relatively long, though, past shoulder length, and very thick, I use two and sometimes three packets of conditioner each time I shampoo. When the steward introduces himself/herself when we arrive, I always ask for at least two extra packets of conditioner each day. With one exception, each steward has gone right out and come back with a handful of conditioner and replenished them generously. The exception waited until dinner time and left me about 8 extra packets and replenished them daily.
MaryPoppinz Posted August 25, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 25, 2005 The shampoo is adequate. The condition isn't very good at all -- especially for days in the sun, sea and sand. Just one salon-hair-product-snob's opinion, though, your mileage may vary. :)
roohound Posted August 25, 2005 #7 Share Posted August 25, 2005 I'm a shampoo/conditiner snob and I can't stand the stuff you get on Princess. Or most hotel chains for that matter. I have very full, curly hair and the stuff I get from Princess doesn't work well on my hair.
bjboothman Posted August 25, 2005 #8 Share Posted August 25, 2005 Well, I have to agree with the majority. The stuff smells great, but I don't think the conditioner does anything for me. I have short, but thick, wavy hair and can't get a comb thru it using the Princess conditioner. The shampoo is tolerable. But the stuff DOES smell wonderful. By the way, if you need a substantial blowdryer, bring your own. The dryers on the ship are wimpy (and as stated, I have short hair).
zachnlucy Posted August 25, 2005 Author #9 Share Posted August 25, 2005 Thanks all. Guess I'll take my conditioner (curly hair here), and use their shampoo.
juliepaule Posted August 25, 2005 #10 Share Posted August 25, 2005 I agree the shampoo was o.k. I had not taken with me any conditioner. I ended up paying 18.00 from the Spa Salon. By all means bring your own.... You can always set it aside if the their conditioner works. Julie
NASCAR Bubba Posted August 26, 2005 #11 Share Posted August 26, 2005 It works just fine, the ladies couldn't keep their hands out of my hair. It's just like gas 3 main manufactures make the majority and only add a few tweaks. No need to overload the packing, save for the real important items if you catch my drift. You know it's a slow nite when i respond to this. :D
LisaH Posted August 26, 2005 #12 Share Posted August 26, 2005 I am very picky about my hair products - LOVED what they use on the Sun. We have been on the ship two times. Do not bother bringing your shampoo or conditioner. - my opinion only of course
