johnsak123 Posted December 29, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Leaving on the Gem 1/2 and wondering if 12:30 is good time to arrive at the port Don't want to miss lunch at Cagney's Any thoughts? Cheers!!
Valen9 Posted December 29, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Depends on a lot of factors. If everything is running on time, you should be able to sail through check-in and go right aboard. Is Cagney's open for lunch on Embarkation day? I think an MDR is open until either 1:30 or 2pm.
Freespir8 Posted December 29, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2014 I would recommend showing up a little earlier just in case. Maybe 11:30 or so. I think Cagney's for suite guests is open until 1:30 or 2. If you are delayed for dome strange reason, that only gives you an hour or so to get to lunch. Would hate to miss out in one of those Cagney lunches! ;)
Demonyte Posted December 29, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Is Cagney's open for lunch on Embarkation day? On older ships without Haven restaurant, Cagney's/Moderno serves suite/VIP breakfast and lunch every day.
pjnj40 Posted December 29, 2014 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2014 you should be fine to be there by 1230 pm. just make sure you keep in mind of other 2000 people might have same ideas as you. You are in luck because you are the only ship in port for that day. I would give 15 minutes of security and check in and another 10 minutes to walk the plank. If you are driving give another 10 minutes as well to park. Also you can look at other island to see how crowded the other port is in your itinerary . http://ports.cruisett.com/schedule/United_States_Of_America/462-New_York_New_York/January_2015
roger001 Posted December 29, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Although you will get suite priority boarding, I'd still shoot for 11:30. 12:30 is right in the middle of the biggest crowd.
cliffd64 Posted December 29, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Personally I would shoot for 11:00 AM ... you will be on by about 11:45 and in Cagneys before you know it.
