Yukon Posted August 25, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2005 Despite rumors to the contrary, there is absolutely no such thing as an accurate forecast for the coast. If the weather-guessers get the next day right they've just been lucky - a week away they have no hope. Murray

I figure that even if they do manage to get it right: 1) I am on vacation 2) I am on a cruise ship - basically a floating city 3) I am going to be cruising through some of the most wonderful scenery in the world. :) JR

I'm ready for whatever Mother Nature decides to throw at me, and I'll accept it all with a big ole grin. :D

Bon Voyage! I'm not far behind you And they're all just guessing - anyone who packs for Alaska according to ANY weather forecast is just looking for problems. That's not just my cynical opinion, it's just the way it is here. My cruise in May was typical - awful forecast, wonderful weather - and if I would have only packed sweaters and rain gear I would have been very uncomfortable. MrsMoose2001 Posted August 26, 2005 #7 Share Posted August 26, 2005 I know, I'm not packing to any weather forecast, but layers, layers and layers with rain stuff for just in case. Basically, jeans, sneakers, socks, short sleeve tees, long sleeve tees and sweat shirts that I will buy there or on the ship and a couple of jogging suits. and lightweight rain jacket (the fold in the pocket kind), a rain coat with a zip out lining and a "fleecy" thingy jacket. Hopefully that will cover it.
Taylor Posted August 26, 2005 #8 Share Posted August 26, 2005 even if it rains it's not that cold. we were there from July 31 for a week and did have some rain and cloudy weather but still, an umbrella and a light jacket was okay. Don't pack too much.
