dee1321 Posted January 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2015 Help please, I am trying to decide on booking my husband's and I's 25th anniversary cruise. I would like to it to be special without breaking the bank. We have cruised several times and Royal Caribbean is our favorite. I have been on Oasis the last 2 cruises in a balcony room and a boardwalk balcony room. Love Oasis! I have also cruised in a balcony room on Radience of the Seas about 10 years ago. My question is I can book a Grand Suite on Independence which I feel will be a big step up from a typical balcony with suite perks or I can book a Crown Loft Suite on Oasis which I probably pushing our price limit and will be at the top of budget. Would I be disappointed in Independence of the Seas after being on Oasis? We are in our early 50's so party life is not important. Would like decent dining experience and shows. Thanks for any help from cruisers who have been on both!
Clarea Posted January 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2015 While we had an excellent cruise on Indy, I don't think it compares to the options you have on Oasis, especially dining and shows.
dee1321 Posted January 16, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted January 16, 2015 thanks Bob, I see you have been on Allure which is about the same as Oasis - do you think we would be let down going on a smaller ship again? Basically lying by the pool is what we enjoy during the day, maybe a show after dinner or casino after dinner. The price difference is like $2000 more on Oasis. If you are not going to take advantage of all the different dining venues on Oasis, then I'd save the money and go on Indy. You will still have Chops and Giovanni's Table on Indy. I like the fact that you don't have to reserve shows on Indy.
TheCount Posted January 16, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 16, 2015 We have been on both and enjoyed both ships in Balcony cab, Jr Suite, and Grand Suite. Depends if you plan on taking in all the extras Oasis offers. We are on Oasis in February in balcony boardwalk this time. We really do enjoy the Freedom class ship size, but can't beat a cocktail beverage in Central Park on a nice evening at sea! Budget becomes the question with the add on? We did have a great time on Indy about 18 months ago before their TA to Southhampton. Either choice, I'm sure will be a special anniversary trip. Ocean Boy Posted January 16, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 16, 2015 I really like both ships but if you enjoy good entertainment I would go with Oasis. The last cruise that we did on Indy I thought the ship had the worst entertainment of any cruise that we have ever done. Things may not be so bad now but I know that the production shows have not changed and I just did not like them at all.

ALSO with OASIS, if you are looking for entertainment, they have CATS as the feature show .:)
