johnsak123 Posted January 17, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2015 Just called CAS to see about a cruise for next year and they told me there are no discounts for singles in suite and above categories Has anyone heard of a CAS change in calculation. Last year I got a nice discount and traveled alone in my cabin Let me know if you heard of any changes in CAS or how they calculate their discount Cheers!! I booked mid-December in a suite on the Epic and sailed Jan 4th. Was single, and got the 3 promotions. Perhaps it's brand new?

Just curious what your casino status is? I am VIP and never, ever get comped anything above a balcony and find that frustrating. I also pay the difference to upgrade to the Haven but it would be nice if my base began as a mini suite. Tracy

Tracy NLH was it for two or just oneI was told as a single I could not get any cabin in a category higher than a mini suite Cheers!! They typically (last 2-3 years) comp me a mini-suite, and then I upgrade from there. Am in a Spa Suite in 2 weeks....solo. But are you talking about Discounts, or Comps? They may be very different things. .

Tracy The last time I booked with CAS I was told that the room comp was not based on my Casino Level but on my play from the last cruise as well as the consistency of my play over several cruises. It may take one player 2 cruises to achieve VIP level while it takes another player 3 or more cruises. The player who achieves VIP in 2 or less cruises will get a better room comp than the player who achieves VIP in 3 or more cruises. With this in mind a player who only cruises once per year but is Gold may get a better room comp than a player who is VIP but cruises 3 or more times in that same year. the Gold player may have racked up more points on that one cruise than the VIP player. garycarla Posted January 17, 2015 #8 Share Posted January 17, 2015 Yes. Same as land based casinos. The comp you are offered is based on actual play, not your level. It may seem like the level, but not always. It is play - money they get, or expect to get from you. There are then other variables. I have been on the phone with them and can get a balcony on one cruise, but a suite on another. It depends on how each cruise is selling and open rooms they are trying to fill. Again, there is no standard.
Coastalbreezes Posted January 17, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 17, 2015 These responses re actual play make sense, so thank you. Tracy
