new to celebrity

getting ready to book the Silhouette for April. Can anyone tell me about category 2D? I am assuming it is obstructed because the lifeboats stick out and you can not see straight down? Has anyone stayed in one of the staterooms, and did you hear noise from deck 5? Tell me about Celebrity. We have cruised different lines, and look forward to celebrity!

Its at the TOP of the main "celebrity" page!! Booked our 2013 Med cruise cabin based on peoples reviews, and it was a great cabin!!

Okay, here's the scoop. The 2Ds have the top of the lifeboat at the level of the balcony railing. So you can look out But not down, and while sitting on your balcony, you will see mostly lifeboat.

 

If it's not too much more, the 2Cs just have the top of the lifeboat at the level of the floor of the balcony. Actually the difference is that the 2Ds have the tenders in front of them, which are taller than the standard lifeboats.

 

If that visual obstruction doesn't bother you, these can be a great value, you still have a balcony, fresh air, and a view.
