What's the difference between D1 and D3?

Please, someone help me out here.

I'm trying to figure out the differences between cabin classes and can't get my arms around it.

For instance:

What's the difference between a D1, D2, D3, etc.?

Likewise B1, B2?

How about K, L, M, N?

Can someone enlighten me, please?

Generally, the lower the number, the better the perceived location. Also, Royal has been changing categories such that the 1's (D1, E1) hold more than 2 guests.

Sometimes there is NO difference. Sometimes there is.

It depends on the ship.

Are you asking about a specific ship?

Poppin in here....We booked for Navigator of the Seas. Right now I have a D3, cabin 6666 Aft. Any differences between the D's on this ship? Thanks.:)

All D's are the same size.

After April 12, 2015 all d1's will hold more than 2 passengers while D2 and D3 only holding 2 passengers.

Looks like D3 are on lower decks while D2 are on the higher decks. We've stayed on deck 6 on the Freedom and liked being on deck 6 as it was close to the promenade.

As OUB wrote, they are all the same size on the Navigator, except for 1688 and 1388, which are in a class by themselves. ;)

D3 are all on Deck 6.

Just wondering why an E2 cabin on voyager is more expensive than D cabins sailing out of Sydney I always thought it was the opposite?

There is no explanation for this, chester. It just sometimes happens.

Supply and demand is the response, but it still seems odd, doesn't it?

Are you looking at one specific sailing?

Just checked prices and now the D cabins are dearer than the E cabin unless it was just a glitch in the system I don't know, but the Ds were cheaper, oh well

When a cruise is first released, the D will be more expensive than the E. Over time, as stateroom inventory gets consumed, the E may become more expensive than the D. It's not the usual situation, but it does happen from time to time.
