  • 3 weeks later...

One thing I regretted was not having a plan for St. Lucia - the port area was the worst of the trip. Other ports like St. Martin were beautiful with no plan.

If you have any specific question ask away!

I would like to hear about the menu's, the ship can change menu's when she arrives here in the states from PR...also would like to know about the band and which live band is playing on her and if you can find me the lucky slot machine. ;)

We cruised the Valor in Jan 2015 and I just finished writing the review (link in my signature) and I can't think of any don'ts. Definitely do explore the ship and interact with the staff as they are all (or at least were all) wonderful when we were on her. We were on a very port intensive itinerary with only one day at sea so did not do a ton on the ship other than at night after the sail away. But we really liked the Valor overall.

We will be on the Valor Sept 2015

Anyone have a copy the room service menu/options..or an idea of what's offered. I was curious about snacks also as someone said they offer them.

Would you say it's a ton of walking from place to place ? We have a balcony cabin on the lido deck, was trying to centrally located to limit my walking...would love to hear if anyone has thoughts on this :)

Favorite shows to see ? Quiet spots ? Any tips for first time cruiser on the Valor ?

Thanks in advance

Cyt4SoreEyes I also would love to see that menu and if possible copies of the menus they do offer in the MDR because I am not sure what they are as they may change when she gets here to Pt. Canaveral. I also would love to know what band is on her, thank you.

Just off March 15th and loved it!

Food suggestions:

The Omelette Stations are delicious!

The Grill by the pool offers Chicken tenders, Burgers, Fries, all were good!

The Mongolian Wok was often a favorite place to eat.

Don't forget to try the Fish and Chips!

We had our first experience dining at the Steakhouse. This was so delicious. We always thought, why pay extra for a meal but this is a wonderful 2 hour experience and we considered it as the cost of a shore excursion! You must make reservations.

We enjoyed the shows in the Ivanhoe theater. We did not attend the Legends Show. We have in the past but always seemed like a lot of bad Karaoke singers trying to imitate good singers that we know!

The music at the clubs and piano bar and in the Atrium were AWFUL. The Karaoke was pretty bad, but the Casino entertainment was really good, but smokey!

If you are looking for a quiet place we used the library to play cards. Also the library is located right near where the photos are displayed on Deck 4, so we used the room to look at pictures before we made our purchase. the Photo area always seemed VERY crowded!

Plan something in Barbados! It is an Industrial area. We walked to the Agapey Chocolate Factory, rather difficult to find and there was a lot of traffic and no sidewalks.

I can tell you about a secret deck. Go up to Deck 10 to the Cabins marked 1001 and turn right, go thru the double doors and you will have your own deck. There are deck chairs out there and it is very quiet!

As far as pool chairs there were always plenty except for the Sea Day, however the crew were really very good about getting chairs for people.

If you have any more questions I would be happy to try to answer them for you!

Secret decks 5,6,7, and 10

10- go to end of hall by rooms 1006 or 1005 use exits out to balcony

Same end for 6 and 7

Deck 5 use stairs from deck 6 to go down to

Passing this on from another source. I have not been on the Valor yet.

Directions to the "secret decks"?

The Valor has "secret decks" on decks 5, 6 ,7 and 10

You would walk on any of those decks all the way to the front of the ship and go thru the door that leads to the outside and you're there. It can get very windy out there, so be sure to hold on to hats, sunglasses, towels, etc.
