New cruisers book 6k grand scenic OV on Freedom. What to expect..

We were able to snag this room (9200) for our October 2017 Halloween cruise on Glory. As with other posters, we had to book through our PVP since the room didn't show available on the website. Now we're just trying to figure out a way to monitor the price since we can't do a mock booking. We have an alert set on the fish site....not sure if it will report it.

 

VERY rare will this price come down. There is only two cabins in that category.

Unless you want to move out of this to a balcony that is the only reason to watch for a price reduction.

I had 9200 on the Conquest December 2015. I am book for 9126 Sunshine November 2017. I was originally booked on 9200 Valor out of San Juan April 2015, but cancelled the cruise after Carnival switched the ship to Liberty.

 

Beautiful room with plenty of space for 4. While a balcony is nice, the floor to ceiling window and extra square footage more than makes up for the lack of a balcony (not to mention a 6K is cheaper than a balcony by a couple hundred bucks). Motion is definitely more pronounced than the rest of the ship, and having to close the blinds at night is PITA. With that said, I will book this room whenever available, and I wish Carnival will offer similar rooms in their new ships.

We did manage to snag a good price drop once. It was 3 in the morning and I was on my way out the door to work. As was my habit I stopped by my computer to check for a price drop and lo and behold I scored a great one.

 

I would guess that whoever had the opposite cabin either cancelled or upgraded to a balcony, either way we benefited. So now we are watching closely for a price drop on our upcoming 6k.

Omg- I am such an idiot. I thought 6k meant $6000.00. Not the room category. It looks like a great room but not a $6k room:-)
