cruiser4630 Posted April 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2015 Will we be able to check the forecast for our upcoming ports while at sea? I'm wondering because I might make the decision to forego a beach day at one port if I see we have a good chance of getting one at the next ports. Of course, I know weather is not always 100% forecast accurately and winds could affect docking, etc. Just curious because I don't remember being able to do this on previous cruises. VeggieGirl83 Posted April 9, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2015 On some ships, there are televisions on Promenade near the casino that shows weather. Also, I've seen it on one channel on the in-room television. I've also heard the Captain talk weather over the PA (although I could only understand about every fourth word LOL). rbis_steve Posted April 9, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 9, 2015 you may also want to check the local weather sites prior to leaving looking at the long range forecasts. Granted that the further out you go in days, the chance of change is greater. But at least you would have some initial knowledge to plan your ports better early on
golfb4cruzing Posted April 9, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2015 underground weather dot com for the ports before you leave should be pretty accurate
loubetti Posted April 9, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 9, 2015 Unfortunately in the Caribe the forecasts might always indicate a chance of rain. Don't let this dissuade you from booking excursions. You get a brief shower in the afternoon, then all over. wundergound.com is a good source, but it is just a typical forecast.
Rare Tapi Posted April 9, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 9, 2015 Sunny, with increasing clouds and a 30-40% chance of afternoon showers is always a pretty accurate forecast in the Caribbean. At least it was during the 20+ years while I lived there.
