Comparison of Royal Caribbean and celebrity

9 days on Brilliance takes you to Key West once and Cozumel twice. And don't forget an extra mustard drill.

Grand Cayman too.:) I'd take the extra drill to stay on for another 4 or 5 days.

True the 5-4-5 from Tampa takes 14 days, and visits 5 ports, but Cozumel is now 3 of them. throw in 3 muster drills for good measure. The Freedom 7-7 from my backyard takes 14 days and visits 7 ports, no repeats and only 2 musters. Also the FOS is about $500 cheaper in December 2015

I am knowledgeable because laura has the FOS B2B scheduled now and was curious about doing Brilliance instead because of a potential Crystal block conflict. I said not worth it. Besides Freedom is every bit as nice as Brilliance in my opinion ;)

I see your point, and forgot where you lived. Makes sense.

We just sailed on the Brilliance. Beautiful ship! Loved the Solarium pool and DH had his (no extra charge) sauna. Those are our two must haves on a ship.

We found there was no comparison to the food in the Windjammer and the food in Celebrity's Oceanview Cafe, Celebrity wins hands down! The food in the MDR on the Brilliance was good but not great and we ate 2 nights in the specialty restaurants and were very pleased with our meals.

I too like the attendants in the restrooms on Celebrity. Even though there are signs posted to wash hands many still don't.

I love that there is no smoking inside any Celebrity ship. I have health issues and am very sensitive to the smoke. We walked through the casino on Brilliance on embarkation day and even though it was closed and no one was in there smoking I could barely breathe. That was our only trip to the casino. It does help keep our money in our pockets as we aren't tempted at all to gamble.

We enjoy both lines but for us we feel that Celebrity gives us the cruise experience we are looking for. Others feel differently but to us X is the total package.

We'd rank the Radiance Class the best(Brilliance), but enjoy the Freedom,(great crew), but what will you do after Oct 2016, its the floating mall Oasis(yuk) in PC, a Vision Class, or drive to Fort Lauderdale for the Freedom?

The Freedom has such a loyal following from its days in PC, its hard to get a decent price anymore!:)

we have done 9 cruises on both S and M class Celebrity ships. Last year we took our first cruise on the Oasis and a 2nd cruise on the Allure. Personally, we prefer the big RC ships over Celebrity as, in our opinion, they have many more entertainment options with shows in which you can reserve seats. Our experience on Celebrity wss that they offered the same production shows for 2 years. Plus on the S class, it was often difficult to get a seat in the theatre if you didnt go 30 minutes before the show. We felt the RC MDR food was just a notch better than Celebrity.

Evenyone has a personal opinion and a preference-- this is ours.
