santrah Posted May 1, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2015 Reading Cruise Critic reviews on Halong Bay some guests that travelled on Celebrity Millennium were tendered directly from the ship onto the Excursion boat instead of tendering ashore and then picking up the excursion boat, to me this makes sense and would be a good selling feature. Do Azamara do this on their Halong Bay full day tour please?
davwen81 Posted May 2, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2015 No because Azamara will be docked as it can come in under the bridge not stay outside far from the terminal area.

Grandma Gilly Posted May 2, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 2, 2015 (edited) Although a few years ago, we tendered the first day and then docked on the second. Edited May 2, 2015 by Grandma Gilly
lexdisic Posted May 2, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 2, 2015 Just to add to the mix - on a similar size ship to AZ we anchored under the bridge - local boats were used to ferry us to land or to take directly to tours using the same boat from a large pontoon at the side of the ship as seen from the deck in the pic. Sanatee Posted May 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 3, 2015 hi, the itinerary is showing an overnight tender for Halong Bay. Our 2013 cruise also showed tender at Halong, but we were able to dock. It's a commercial port so it probably depends on their commercial activity.
