Bermuda Day Celebration

Has anyone actually been to Bermuda on Bermuda Day? I know that buses and ferries will run on a reduced schedule and many businesses and restaurants will be closed.

 

So my questions are . . . . . What can we expect to be able to do on that day? Will the buses and ferries be so crowded with locals that we will not be able to use them? Will places like the Swizzle Inn be closed? I know that Hamilton will be crowded - what about St. George's?

 

Any other information that you can share would be appreciated.

When is Bermuda day.

 

It's May 24, or the weekday closest to May 24 if that date falls on a weekend. This year Bermuda Day will be celebrated on Monday, May 25.

The public transportation won't be crowded. St. George's won't be crowded. Some restaurants will be open, not sure if Swizzle will be, you can email and ask info@swizzleinn.com. All stores most likely will be closed. You can go to the beach, the parade, or you can just look around down St. George's.

Thanks for your help, Island Majesty. We plan to go to St. George's and walk to Tobacco Bay, etc. then take the bus to Hamilton to see what is going on with the festivities there.
