Miracle check in

Just found some member photos of a place called the Captains Lounge. Is this where platinum gold and fttf register and get their sign cards

Platinum, Diamond, and people staying in Suites check in at the Captain's Lounge. Gold goes to the main boarding lines. FTTF goes to a separate Priority Line.

When we had FTTF in December, we checked in and waited in the Captain's Lounge.

They must have changed that since this photo was taken. The sign just says Platinum, Diamond and Suite Guests.

A year ago January, I waited (Platinum) in the Captain's Lounge along with the Diamond and Suite members. (The FTTF group checked in with us but waited in a different area outdoors). After 3 plus hours of waiting, we were finally 'ushered' outdoors into a MASS of people who were already boarding the ship. There were no distinctive lines - people were pushing and shoving trying to find the 'right' place to stand. When we were led to 'our' area, many were outraged because they felt they were being pushed out of the lines they had been standing in and began to push 'us' back. It was pure chaos and I was traveling with my son/his wife/and their 2 year old son who became very upset and frightened.

BTW: Once we were on board, we found out that the FTTF group, (who had checked in with us), were actually boarded over 2 hours before the Platinum, Diamonds, and Suite guests. A few of the Diamond members complained and were told that all of us who had waited in the Captain's Lounge, should have been escorted outdoors to wait in the same area that the FTTF group were standing. Needless to say, it was clearly unorganized and now I'm concerned that it will be the same (especially if we wait in the Captain's Lounge), when we travel come January.

BTW in December it had the most disorganized boarding we have seen in 25+ carnival cruises.

That cruise was cursed from the beginning. It was a 'Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong" type of cruise.

Our Oct HI cruise had none of your issues, even our check in process was smooth.

Why did you wait inside? Rain? We've always been asked to wait outside. The CL holds about 20 seated pax total.

They told us to wait there. It was VERY CROWDED but we remained inside because we didn't want to 'lose our place' as Platinum to board. (Didn't end up mattering anyway. :()
