Does my wife need her own VIFP#?

I just booked my first cruise & have a VIFP # by my name on our booking. My wife doesn't have one by her name, does she need one? Or will she just be grouped with me as I move up levels in the future? How does it work if you have a spouse that cruises with you? Thanks!

If she is also cruising on her 1st cruise with Carnival, she'll have her own number.

She will be assigned her own. I don't recall how it went for us, but I suspect it will happen when she checks in for the cruise.

Each person has their own number. It will be on her card upon checking in.

You can link you vifp if done right she will have the same vifp value. But must be done by carnival

Yes! Everyone who cruises Carnival will be given their own VIFP number on their first cruise. And each person will accrue his or her own benefits based on the number of days sailed on Carnival. Even kids! Some kids earn platinum benefits before they become legal age! Sometimes one person in a family will be extended special cruise rates while the others don't receive the offer. So it is important for each person to check their own VIFP offers.

What I did was I signed my husband and I up for VIFP accounts online, then I added the numbers to the booking.
