Cruznjuly Posted June 5, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2015 Looking at the CD schedule for the Breeze and have many questions. It says for July- Skip Lyons is Ent Director- wasn't he a CD? Or is ED another fancy name for assistant CD? It says Skip Lyons SON 6/23... What's SON? Also for June, it mentions "Show change cast change" Does anyone know what that's about? Thanks! michigancruiser0715 Posted June 5, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2015 I'm on the June 20th sailing and I was wondering the same thing. Instead of a cast change, they just need a total SHOW change. ;) lol
love my grandkids Posted June 5, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 5, 2015 Entertainment director is above CD and is supposed to handle paperwork and mgt responsibilities so CD can get out more
nybumpkin Posted June 5, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 5, 2015 Skip Lyons was the CD on our first cruise in 2004. The CD on Breeze for 6/23 will be Dr. E, subbing for Matt Mitcham while he's on vacation. (We're on the 7/4 sailing.)

michigancruiser0715 Posted June 8, 2015 #8 Share Posted June 8, 2015 If it is playlist I totally agree. Yes, it's still Playlist, sadly. I just wish they'd listen to their customers and change the shows.

mediccruzin Posted June 8, 2015 #10 Share Posted June 8, 2015 Very true but thinking they want to make the most of this investment.:( Well since it seems they are rolling this "playlist" thing out every time s ship dry docks, doesn't look like it will go away any time soon. Thankfully I have desire to see shows on a cruise. I attend enough during to school year to see the grand kids. Pretty much the same ;)

Two we just walked out on including Divas which is wonderful for triggering migraines with its flashing bright lights.

michigancruiser0715 Posted June 8, 2015 #16 Share Posted June 8, 2015 Very true but thinking they want to make the most of this investment.:( Sorry to hijack the thread with this topic. :o IMO, they can still make the most of their investment. They have awesome equipment, including the staging, light systems, moving lit backdrop screens, and sound ... they just need to incorporate an actual show into the scheme. I'm not saying there isn't the occasional good group with halfway decent voices, but most of them are lousy to just watch sing (because they also require them to dance). They could take that same talent and do what RCCL is doing and do a condensed version of a Broadway show - something with some sort of plot line would make it more worth staying for. Even if the singing isn't great, at least there would be more happening (at worst). Now, if they hired people who are strictly good singers and just let them sing, as well as people who are good dancers and just let them dance, it would be an even better improvement. Dare to dream, I guess.

Could even film a good dance troupe and dont need any dancers and presto what a great show. and they can tell us this is an improvement.:):)
