I don't normally eat anything containing sugar, but I may just have to head down to Cafe Du Monde this weekend and have some beignets. It's been a while. Greg and I were saying in August that we needed to take the kids down to the Quarter, they've never been (they're 4 and 6). I guess now might be a good time, it sure won't be crowded!

We didn't make it to the Fest. We just stayed around the Quarter. It's good to see NOLA coming alive again. There are still a number of businesses closed but the ones that were open were fairly crowded. The patrons were mostly relief workers with a scattering of locals. It was good to be back !

Street cars will start rolling again on sunday, but not on the St Charles line.

 

The street cars from that route, will be running along the Riverfront and a hybrid Canal Street route..

Streetcars will return to N.O. on Sunday

On Sunday morning, New Orleans will get some of its rhythm back when its streetcars roll again.

Monday's experiment in which a historic green Perley Thomas streetcar, one of the 35 workhorses from the St. Charles Avenue line, was tested on the Canal Street and Riverfront tracks "was so successful" that the Regional Transit Authority bumped up the start date for returning service to the Riverfront line and a portion of the Canal line.....

 

 

Service will be free until March.
