Opua Kiwi Posted July 5, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 5, 2015 Tauranga: Rotorua, or Hobbitton, or climb the Mount and then hit the surf beach. Wellington: Te Papa, Weta workshops, Cable car Mt Vic. Akoroa: Van tour around the peninsula, or wildlife tour, or just enjoy the village. Dunedin Tairei George Train and Lanarchs Castle.
wombat13 Posted July 5, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted July 5, 2015 Thanks for your input 😊 I have been to Lanarchs Castle before and that was going to be my input for Dunedin. Also years ago I went somewhere to see the albatrosses nesting area. The Tairei gorge train sounds good too

linanles Posted July 7, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 7, 2015 If the 2nd leg Perth to Sydney is via the Top End I would suggest a day trip to either Litchfield National Park or Adelaide River when in Darwin. Unfortunately Kakadu is more than a day trip.

wombat13 Posted July 7, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted July 7, 2015 Absolutely ☺ I suggested http://www.wetlandcruises.com.au on the Mary River we really enjoyed this. I didn't think of Litchfield NP because I thought it might be too far. So is this possible? I have only done the top end by caravan where we had the luxury of time.
