Can't thank you enough for this review! We will be first time cruisers on Carnival in Sept 2016-the Pride to Bermuda and back on in Oct for the Grand Turk cruise. We have done over 25 RCCL cruises but we wanted a 7night Bermuda cruise out of Baltimore and have not done the ports on the Oct cruise so we are really excited to try Carnival!! I am so sad that RCCL has dropped their Make A Wish connection, I am an RN that has worked transplant and ocology and Peds so my tears ran when I read about your Poppi and that wonderful family that donated their daughter's liver to Lucas. Hopefully we will meet you and your Mom &Dad on a future cruise, I would be honored to shake your hand! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you so much for reading, for your kind words, and for the amazing work you do as an RN. My Poppi had such outstanding nurses who helped to save his life and made the process so much easier on all of us. We owe such a debt to them. Have a great time on Carnival -- I think you'll love it! I'm actually doing the opposite of you and trying RCCL for the first time this spring after only sailing Carnival. Always fun to try something new! We'll have to compare notes! Happy sailing! :D

Hi H, It's taken me a few days to get back on here to read the rest of your fabulous review.

I am SO happy that your Poppi received the transplant. That phone call saying, "We have a match," is the best phone call in the world. I've never seen a pin like you are wearing; that is awesome. We were able to thank my husband's kidney donor family by sending a letter to the transplant center at the hospital to forward to them. I hope your family has the chance to do the same.

I know your family cruise will be a wonderful time to celebrate all of you being together. Maybe I should adopt your family for a week and come along, too. Don't forget to throw those tantrums to get your parents to book the Nov.15, 2015 with you. Tell your Dad that he and I can demand that the Browns game be shown in the Sports Bar so that we can create a Dawg Pound at Sea.

You have brought many smiles and chuckles to my life once again with your review. Keep sailing and reviewing.

Until the next time. Happy Sails To YOU.

Thanks so much for your kind words and for reading. I'm so happy your husband was able to receive his transplant too -- organ donation is such a wonderful thing. My Gigi ordered the pins (and some "Donate Life" bracelets) online. We all wear them now.

We definitely need to cruise together again. I'll do my best whining with the hope of adding November 15th to our cruising schedule. My dad would love watching a Browns game with you and I'd enjoy sharing some cheese and sherbet. You and your husband seem like such a great, kind, fun couple.

If I can't make November happen, I expect a full review upon your return! Happy Sails to YOU too (I love that!). :D

What, it's over? I read CC for a few minutes each morning before work if I have time. I've been thoroughly entertained for a few weeks. I was hoping since it was taking me so long that you'd be on your next cruise before I was done so I could start reading your next review. Yes, I've read all the others, so now what to do?

What a beautiful story to end with. So happy for your family.

I received a cell phone so they could contact me in the event of a problem. They called once – seems mom had pooped and they’d used all the diapers I provided (they DO change diapers at Camp Carnival which is a VERY nice feature hard to find on other lines).

You are adorable. This thread has me cracking up. Especially because I found it when I searched for "Camp Carnival" and this sentence came up in the search results. Out of context I was completely baffled!!

I'm sailing with my 3 year old on Nov 15th. Hope she has as much fun as you did.

LOL!!!! Go easy on your 3 year old -- cruising with a mom can be a little stressful. Have fun! :D

I can't believe I didn't see this before now! I was so looking forward to this review. We'll be on the Pride in December with our just turned 3 and almost 2 year olds who share your penchant for hats and pizza. So, hello from some fellow yinzers! Maybe we'll end up on the same cruise some day. 2sb9yf7.jpg

I was looking at the camp carnival schedule you posted and saw "family free play" on a few days. Did you happen to visit that? I'm wondering if we'll be able to go with both our boys since its not drop off. Thanks for posting those though, I love to give my oldest a little idea of what he'll get to do at camp.

Also-- did you spend any time at the splash park on this cruise? Thanks!

This is H's mom, filling in for him while he's at school. Holy crap, your boys are the cutest! If you ever see us around town, give us a holler! To answer your questions, no, we never did the "family free play." I didn't even notice that or we would have tried it! I always wish there would be a time we could play at camp with H. Before he turned 2, on the Freedom, there was supervised play for those under 2 between 8-10am. You might also ask about that as an option during the camp orientation. We never saw it advertised anywhere on the Pride, but I don't recall it being advertised on the Freedom either. I bet they'd let your 3 year-old play too, since you'd be supervising them.

We did check out the splash park, but it was small and VERY windy and the giant buckets of water that would randomly tip over and dump water scared H. It would probably be less windy while in port, but might be really crowded with older kids. Worth a shot to see if they like it, for sure.

HAVE FUN and report back! :D
