Rough seas for Pacific Coastal cruises?

Gross generalizaation of course, but usually bumpier Northbound along the Left Coast than Southbound - due to the Japanese Current, which flows South along the coast.

Often very bumpy just outside the Golden Gate, in area known as Potato Patch, where the currents from San Francisco Bay collide with the Japanese Current.

When I went on the Spirit in 2009 the ship could not leave port because it was so windy. I bumped around so much I ended up in a bed and a wheelchair because my back went out. Left the ship in a wheelchair. Is that bumpy enough for you? It depends on your age and your health.
