Life jackets

Interesting philosophical difference: Princess, also a Carnival Corp property, does require the life jackets be brought to muster drill, or certainly did as of last month on the Grand. I wonder why this is?

I've spent most of my life on, in or under the water and have worn just about every type of lifejacket or PFD imaginable, but one of the first things I doing after getting in our cabin is make sure that I'm familiar with whatever device is available in the cabin. In an emergency, I know that I'll be able to put it on quickly and properly.

Unfortunately, there are many passengers who are not familiar with how to put them on, and one of the purposes of a muster drill is to demonstrate how to do so. Unfortunately, as we have all experience in life, watching and doing are not the same thing. I applaud any cruise line that makes passengers take their lifejackets to the drill IF they make them practise putting them on.
