Rental car shuttle - only 1 charter ship in port

I will call Alamo a few weeks before my cruise to ask , but I'm curious as to whether they will still offer a shuttle from MIA to Port of Miami when I return my rental car. I've used that shuttle service before and it worked flawlessly, but that was on a day with typical port traffic. I'm looking to use it on a Tuesday when the only ship embarking from Port of Miami is the NCL Pearl and it's a charter rather than a normal sailing, so I wasn't sure if that would affect things.

 

It would be less driving and cheaper in the long run to drop off at FLL and take a $13 shuttle to the port than to drop off at MIA and suddenly have to pay for a cab.

You could call the MIA Alamo location to be sure, but they should be running the shuttle at least early to pick up passengers getting off the previous cruise.

 

Plan B (shuttle from FLL) sounds like the sure thing.

For what it's worth, the Alamo shuttle ran from FLL to Port Everglades when ours was the only ship in port a couple years ago. We did sit a bit at the airport while they waited for more people.
