Alicante port procedures?

When we docked at Alicante, it was a straight walk down to the town and didn't take very long. I seem to remember the town and the beach were very close. There is a pleasant walk along the promenade to shops, beach etc.

I would imagine for a 4.00pm departure you would need to be back on board by 3.30pm?

It depends what ship you are on. Very small ships dock right by the port gates. Larger ships dock at the main cruise port which is a short shuttle bus ride from the gates.

The port gates are right by the marina, close to the beach and Esplanada de Espana (a delightful tree lined promenade).

The centre of town (shops, museums etc) is only about 15 minutes walk away.

As to what time to get the shuttle back to the ship, you would be best to ask while on board. They will tell you the time of the last shuttle bus. But, if you are like me, I always get back on board a bit for the latest time.

I hope you enjoy your day in Alicante.
