jeanniedc Posted September 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2015 I have a very specific question about Dr. Poole's dolphin watch tour. I know this is hard to answer, because it varies by the day and by the individual, but could someone comment on how likely we are to encounter rough water on the boat? My husband is somewhat prone to seasickness and I don't want him to be uncomfortable. We will be in Moorea in early October. Thank you very much. RZ3 Posted September 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) Much of our tour was inside the lagoon where rough water is less likely, but we did venture outside for a bit as well. The water out there wasn't rough at all on our trip. I doubt he would take the boat out into the rougher areas with guests aboard. Wendy The Wanderer Posted September 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 21, 2015 Depends on the time of year. If it's whale season, which I believe extends into October, then you will go outside the lagoon and it can be choppy or there can be swells. I take Bonine, and it works well. We saw a humpback breach not far the boat, last September, well worth it.

Adidas4fun Posted September 22, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 22, 2015 My other half is very prone and we were bobbing up and down outside the reef when he asked if we could get back inside the lagoon, Dr Poole tried reassuring him but after he began vomiting we were back inside the reef very quickly. NC&KY Posted September 23, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 23, 2015 Rough waters are likely from my experience. Better to take bonine or put on a patch in advance.
