Photo Review of Carnival Victory, 8/27-8/31

Looking forward to your review. I have a friend who is taking her first cruise ever and it will be on the Victory in a few months. I will make sure that she sees your review so she has an idea of what to expect. You're off to a great start; she'll be beside herself with excitement.

 

We are doing our first Pride cruise in Nov. We live in Delaware so we're excited to be able to just drive to the port instead of to BWI !

 

Being a cruise addict, I love reading reviews even if I am not booked on the ship that the review is about. What can I say ?

Im booked on the Victory for Oct 26. We're flying into FLL on South West, and staying at the same hotel! Love the pictures. How was the hotel? Was everything within walking distance of the hotel or do we need a cab to go eat?

Everything was right there. CVS became our best friend, for last minute items and WINE. You can walk to Bayside.

Leaving from Baltimore is the best, so easy to park and ride.

The next morning we were in Key West. The ship docks at 7:30a, wayyy tooo early for us to do anything there so we ate a light buffet breakfast and then took our time getting off the ship. Once you get off and walk ouf of the docked area, they have a museum that have great photo-op pieces all around.

And then back to the ship. We were suppose to be back at 1:00p and we were there at 1p but as you can see, it was going to be a while before this ship will sail.

The port as you exit the ship.

 

 

We booked the ATV and beach excursion. It started with an air conditioned bus ride to the jungle, about 15 to 20 minutes. We were met at the port as you exit the ship by our guide.

 

 

We are signing our waivers.

 

 

Please take mosquito spray, they were attacking as soon as we stepped off the bus. Now it's time for the safety video.

This is after the ride which was rocky and bumpy and super fast to me, at times I couldn't keep up. We had 2 rest periods and they provide the bottle water.

My videos won't post but I'm working on them so stay tuned. I'll continue until it's fixed.

 

We went to the beach next

 

 

It was a really nice beach with lots of water activities, and great food.

After an hour the bus took us back to the port, you can stay if you want but the cab ride is $16.

We had SAS pick us up to take us to Ft. Lauderdale airport.

 

 

 

We arrived at the airport around 12:30p and we couldn't check in until 4 hours before the flight, we were scheduled at 5:25p, so we became acquainted with the carpet while we waited with our luggage. Luckily we had an outlet.

 

 

Once we checked in, we found a bar!!!!!!

My final notes, I really enjoyed Key West, we were there too short of time. We can't wait until we go back to Cozemel. The ship is small and old and the buffet layout sucks. I probably won't book the Victory. The casino had way too many penny machines, even it out some and put more quarter machines. The payouts sucked too. Lucky llama was the young lady that hosted the bingo and she told some pretty funny one liners. I ordered the new strip from the premier menu and it was not worth it..boy oh boy do I miss my steakhouse (victory does not have one). The popcorn machine didn't work, what is movie night without the popcorn? Even with these issues we still had a good time as you could see.....you make your vacation...don't let small stuff ruin it! ALWAYZCRUISIN, Thanks so much for your great review! I enjoyed it very much. My turn to go on Victory next month, but on the eastern run. I loved all your photos, and makes me want to get back to Key West and Cozumel soon.
