We've always liked the Giovanni's (nee Portofino's) approach and the food. 'Twas brillig and the the slithy trove.... etc.

 

Or is it a circus now?

 

What say you 'sperienced folk?

You are making too much of it. Family style is an option if you have a large party. There are tables for two and you will have great food and excellent service.

We usually have lunch at GT when we're on a ship that has it, just the two of us. It's a nice, long lunch and we roll out stuffed and (mostly) happy. When it's just the two of you, it's obviously harder to order the variety you might like to if with a larger group, but you can have a nice meal and try not to feel pressured to eat everything on every plate.

 

We've asked for extras, such as a few slices of prosciutto, instead of getting the entire antipasto platter. We do not enjoy the entrees and desserts at GT as much as the other items, so we fill up on the other items.

 

As for service/circus, it will all depend on the waitstaff you get and how noisy the other diners at surrounding tables may be, and that's always a game of chance.

worry NOT, you can have a wonderful private dinner for two. The family style for a table for 2 will mean you share some of the sides, or not, depending on your choices.......enjoy
