Suite "perk" questions...

We have experienced the suite life on HAL, Carnival and Celebrity. Wondering if anyone can tell us what Princess and RCCL offer as far as perks if we book a suite. I have noticed that Princess is less expensive. Any info appreciated!

Thanks, Sherry

You don't get as much in a high priced suite on RCCI than you do on some other cruise lines. Actually, we were totally disappointed when we were in the Royal Suite on RCCI because you don't even get free soda or bottled water in those rooms. At least on other lines when you purchase those expensive suites you get free cans of soda and water. For all that money you basically get a separate line for checking in, priority disembarkation, priority tender tickets and some upgraded bathroom amenities.

I think Princess has the better suite perks. Priority embarkation, free laundry & dry cleaning, upgraded bathroom amenities, we were able to stay in our suite until disembarking instead of waiting in a lounge (although you can wait in the Platinum/Elite area), canapes every evening, mini bar set up (one time, but it's a goodly amount of stuff). They've also started expanding the minisuite perks to include upgraded bedding and a sailaway glass of champagne. I don't know if priority boarding will be included for minisuites.

Royal Caribbean gives full suite occupants access to a concierge club on their newer ships (Voyager and Radiance class) and the Enchantment of the Seas. You get continental breakfast, free cappuccino all day, and free cocktails from 5-8:30 or so. On a longer cruise, that benefit trumps the initial bar setup on Princess, IMHO. The concierge can also make dinner/ice skating/shore excursion reservations. They give you upgraded bathroom amenities and priority embarkation in a junior suite, but not the other suite perks.
