JRGAPI Posted October 5, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 5, 2005 OK Mates We have had to change our plans for cruising next year. So now we are looking into cruising on the Carnival Pride to the Mexican Rivera November 12, 2006 instead of Feb.; March or April 2006. Can anyone tell me how the weather is on this cruise in November. JR
tam-tam Posted October 5, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 5, 2005 I've been to the Mexican Riveria three times in November and have always had wonderful weather. It will not be as hot as during summer months and there will be a chance of rain (although they tend to have brief storms). I can also recommend the Pride as a wonderful ship--I have sailed her twice.
The Cruisers Posted October 5, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 5, 2005 We are looking at going on this cruise with 3 other couples. I have read that it is cool on the first day out of LA, then it warms up the next day. Is this true for November?
klfrodo Posted October 5, 2005 #4 Share Posted October 5, 2005 I sailed this past July and the temps were cool at night until you got south of San Diego. I would expect the same if not more in Feb.
phroggie Posted October 5, 2005 #5 Share Posted October 5, 2005 LA and the SoCal coast: It will probably be like today: sunny with very dry wind gusts out of the North Northeast. ("Off-shore" winds.) (See http://images.ibsys.com/la/images/weather/auto/tower_640x480.jpg?1095122753111 .) Temperature may be anywhere from the upper thirties at night to upper nineties in the day though mid-fifties to mid-eighties is probably more likely. More extreme has been known to happen, though. Expect a chamber-of-commerce day with visibility beyond thirty miles unless there are brushfires: it will still be peak season. Don't worry, they won't affect operations at the port or any of the area airports. How I'd dress: shorts and a tee-shirt with an "emergency" sweat shirt. (Isn't that how I dress everyday?) tam-tam Posted October 6, 2005 #7 Share Posted October 6, 2005 Yes, the first day is typically cooler and you warm up as you go south. I would bring a light sweater or sweatshirt for the first day.
