trvlgirlmq Posted January 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2016 I've tried searching here and Google but can't seem to find exact information! We will be debarking in Athens and want to take the X96 bus to the airport. I have read that the stop is another bus ride away from the cruise terminal? Is this still the case? If not, is the stop close enough that with all of our luggage we won't have to walk too far? Any information is much appreciated.
kdooley Posted January 11, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2016 It will depend on where your cruise is docked. The bus stop is closer to the ferry dock terminals and metro, so if you are docked way out at the end, you can take a cab for 6€ or find the bus just outside the terminal area. We have walked it and it is doable but a long walk with luggage. Make sure the cab driver understands you want a ride to the bus - or ferry terminal area - or they may take you to the airport! trvlgirlmq Posted January 11, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted January 11, 2016 Ah, thanks. Maybe in the interest of ease we should spend a bit more money and book a car service.
kdooley Posted January 11, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2016 I found an image that shows the port area - bus stop is between E8 and E9. We docked all the way at the end, lower left of image, E12. We have been there twice, with Celebrity and Princess. The European lines tend to dock at E10 or E11.
trvlgirlmq Posted February 8, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted February 8, 2016 Topping this back up to get more clarification from the experts! According to the official website there is a pick up stop at Terpsitheas Square which is approximately .69 miles from Pier 11 (not sure where we will be docking though). Is this a legitimate pick up spot going TO the airport? If it is we could definitely walk that and save over E50 on a car service. http://www.oasa.gr/xmap.php?id=px96&lang=en Thank you so much for answering! JayRich65 Posted February 12, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 12, 2016 Another option would be to take the X80 Port Express bus into Anthens and then switch to the Metro/Subway to take directly to Airport. X80 4 Euros each, subway 8 Euros each. This would be pretty easy, the only difficulty with Luggage would be to fine the subway entrance with elevator. Lam8 Posted February 28, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 28, 2016 Have a look at Tom's port guides. Search the Internet. He has covered many ports and his advice is excellent
