Recent Mariner Cruisers..... Balcony Question....

Do they allow for the dividers in the balconies to be opened? We have two rooms together and would like this option. I know this question has been asked before, but I am looking for more recent answers so to speak...

I just got off Mariner 2 weeks ago. We had a balcony on deck 10. Yes, dividers can be open.

We were on the Mariner in July and No, they would not open up our balcony - they said for safety reasons.

We were on Mariner last September. No to opening the dividers as well. Those of you who have had them opened, how did you do that??

While the dividers can be opened on most ships, it's up to the Captain as to whether or not that will be allowed. On out last Mariner sailing we were told the Captain had made the decision not to allow this as the previous weeks cruise had an incident that could have resulted in a major safety issue.

Well, I guess it is a hit or miss sort of thing. Hopefully we can have them opened.

 

Any suggestions on things to do on the Eastern ports?
