Cable Cars The River Front Line

We are staying at the Hyatt Place across the street from the convention center. When I go onto the RTA trip planner site or google for directions to French Quarter they have walking past two cable car stops John Churchill and Julia Street Stations. Are these stops closed?

Julia Street is open.

 

Churchill is technically open, but only accessible through the Convention Center when there are activities going on there.

 

They are streetcars, not cable cars.

Thanks for the info that makes sense about the convention center stop. Any info you can give me about NOLA is appreciated.
