skiiergirl Posted February 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2016 Anyone know of a "food" tour on St Lucia? There are several "foodies" in our group that would like a "food" tour. Or any really spectacular restaurant for LUNCH that is worth the taxi ride, etc? Thanks so much!!!
reedprincess Posted February 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2016 Check out Cook Like A Lucian for hands on cooking class with local ingredients and flavors. Also, the Food and Craft market is right across from the port, with an amazing array of local fruits and vegetables, local meats and fish, along with spice market. There are also Food stalls with local meals made from the ingredients at the food market. Pink Plantation House would be another option for a great local flair meal and amazing views. Need to make a reservation in advance. Enjoy your visit.

We booked this tour through Celebrity Eclipse, but you can also book it independently as well. The event consists of an interactive cooking class, and a sumptuous feast after the cooking is complete. The instruction was provided by the owners - Tony and his "Mama" - Antonia. They were both delightful, and warm. Tony is very knowledgeable about local foods, particularly fruits and vegetables. He also has a wealth of knowledge about the nutritional benefits of local produce. We were a group of about 12 adults - and in pairs, we had a very hands on role in the food preparation. We had our choices of beverages along the way, and a little bit of dancing thrown in to keep the creative juices flowing. Once we were done with the food preparation, we sat down to a wonderful meal with our fellow guests. It was a great way to spend a day, and learn about the local culture and cuisine. Thanks Tony and Mama.

Pookeybear1966 Posted August 2, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 2, 2016 Was the transportation from the port included or did you take your own transportation? I was looking at this class myself when we are there next year. It says transportation is included so I'm assuming so.
