Dawn Princess - Baja Deck

I reckon that would be mostly for all the pipe-work (i.e. main engines & auxiliary exhausts etc) from the engine spaces to up to the funnel. The white space is on decks above & below baja and lines up with the funnel when looking at a side view of the ship.

You can see a myriad of pipes inside the funnel framework when walking past when on deck.

Hi

I'm looking at booking an inside cabin on the Baja deck. There is a big white space on the deck plan towards the back of the ship. Does anyone know what this area is?

Thanks

That white area goes up through to Lido deck - and certainly from Promenade deck up. (just had a look:p) Ships are "ships within ships" One for the public and one for the crew. I suspect that this are is one of those crew ones - lines up with the Lido eatery - so perhaps kitchens and the like. The only area's to be wary of are lifts and their motor rooms behind. (White) Someone else may fill in the gaps.

Since Dawn is the same design as Sun I'm fairly certain it contains crew areas including a crew staircase - when we were on Sun and heading for the muster drill the staff shepherded everyone heading aft on Baja deck down the crew staircase, presumably to avoid congestion on the other staircases. As mentioned above it also probably includes engine exhaust funnels etc.

We had B407 on Dawn last August. It was next to a small crew storage area, then there was the laundrette, and then the lift foyer. It was very quiet unless the cabin stewards were getting their carts out of the storage area, which usually happened about 7:30am. Most of the time it didn't disturb us with the exception of one morning when something was being repaired. We heard no noise from the laundrette or the lifts.

We have just spent 46 nights on the Sun Princess in B622 which is an inside cabin adjacent to this space. I'm still not sure what is in that space, but there was no noise whatsoever.

The cabin is close to the rear lifts and we found it more convenient and quicker to go to Deck 8 in the Glass Lifts, then walk through the Casino to the rear lifts or stairs to get to Deck 10.

Our only negative comment would be that we had to open the cabin door to use the WIFI which is more accessible from other parts of the ship.

I have just spent 50 night in B543 right next to the crew stairwell area. I am a bad sleeper and I had no noise issues at all, day or night. Wifi was fine in this room.
