I have been reading a few posts and am a bit curious about the Service Charge, is that similar or the same as gratuities on other ships? We are supposed to have pre-paid gratuities for our trip, so I am just trying to make sure what to expect to pay for. Thanks in advance.

Without getting into the various arguments which may follow, yes the service charge is similar to the gratuities which are charged on other ships.

There is also an 18% gratuity added on to most onboard purchases (meals, drinks etc). This and the daily charge mean that you are basically covered for gratuities. Some people choose to add additional tips but that is entirely voluntary and not expected.

There are a few other staff, such as butlers and concierge for the suites which aren't covered by the daily charge, but that doesn't apply to most passengers.
