How many formal nights on a 11 night cruise?

Actually, if anyone knows the breakdown as to how many formal, how many informal, and how many casual...that would be great.

 

Also...what do YOU wear on informal nights? I know what the cruiseline suggests. I was just wondering what was the norm.

It would be nice to hear from men and women. :)

What's posted on the Celebrity website and what happens on the ship may be different. For instance, our 9-night cruise should have had three formal nights, two informal nights, and four casual ones, according to the website. We ended up with two formal, one informal, and six casual ones.

I personally dress as Celebrity requests. Although there are always those who ignore the suggested dress code, the "norm" for Celebrity passengers is to dress according to what the cruise line requests. The onboard ambiance is a large part of the Celebrity experience. In their daily, they state the dress for the evening, then go on to ask that all passengers please comply out of respect for their fellow passengers.

 

On some ships, you will be turned away if not dressed properly. This, unfortunately IMHO, is not uniformly enforced.

I personally will wear a long formal dress on formal night, short coctail dress or other long dress (not too formal looking) on informal.

 

My DH will wear tux on formal (on our first cruises he wore a black suit), coat and tie on informal and usually shirt and tie on casual.

 

Our last cruise on Mercury people dressed down from what I have seen compared to the cruises we have taken with Celebrity. Also on this cruise the dress codes were different than posted on the website, as well as having formal night on the second night after being in port all day, while the third day was a full day at sea:confused:

on our 11 night cruise in april there were 3 formal nights; these were "formal" (tux/evening gown) you are asked to remain in formal dress all evening while in any public areas (lounges, casino etc). 3 informal nights; here i wore jacket and dress silk tee shirt, my dw wore short cocktail dresses. the remaining nights were casual where you saw every definition imaginable, the dw and i wore smart/business casual and fit in just fine.

 

hope this info helps and yes, once you sail celebrity it'll be hard to go back to any other line. enjoy the cruise.
