Well, would you rather go to Galveston or New Orleans?

I guess, I should have provided more info, lol. It's about the same drive. I haven't been either. Cost isn't A factor either.

NOLA a little cheaper than Galveston. NOLA you get a little river view on your departure from what I've been told, Galveston is straight into the Gulf. I believe Liberty is a little larger than Triumph, but both have the 2.0 upgrades. Flip a coin see who wins: of course you win, IT'S A CRUISE!! Either one have fun

The Liberty is a bigger ship. I haven't sailed on it yet but I will be on it Monday. I have sailed the Triumph and I wouldn't pick that ship again. Nothing bad about it but nothing memorable either. I would choose other ships to try. I have always found Galveston to be cheaper than New Orleans. Galveston is about 2 1/2 hours from me and New Orleans is about 3 hours. And I prefer Galveston in every way.

Liberty- slightly larger ship, Steakhouse, Serenity deck, and fridges in the staterooms, Sailing out of Galveston you only have 4 days of the cheers package rather then having to pay for 5 days and only getting to use part of that first day if that is something that might interest you.

They both have about the same layout, but Liberty is a Conquest class ship, and is bigger than the Triumph. Liberty is 59 ft longer and is at 110 tonnage and Triumph at 101 tonnage. Fifty nine feet can make a difference on a ship when you multiply that by relevant decks such as Lido, Promonade, and so forth. I believe some people have already mentioned the extras that Liberty has compared to Triumph.

I've been on the Triumph and on the Conquest, and I think Conquest is a much better ship as far as the extras. Thinking about Liberty for this summer. Check out the comparison on the link I provided.

We ended up picking Liberty. :). Better room options since we needed 2 rooms close together (bringing daughter and her friend). Love trying new ships :). Thank you everyone for your thoughts. :)

I will def do a review when we get back. I'm not an experienced cruiser so don't expect an award winning review lol. But I will def take lots of pictures and let yall know how everything was.

Ha! I hear ya there, June is cruise #5 on Liberty and Sept, we are on Freedom. I have a LONG way to go before I'm experienced 😂

Have a great time on your cruise

We just booked Liberty for July. Good choice for you. Personnaly, I did not like the Triumph. Had it not been replaced by Liberty, I would not have booked a five day cruise for this summer.

We have been on both. The Triumph will always be special to us, it was our first cruise and we also got married in port that trip. The Liberty was our favorite though!! We went shortly after the 2.0 upgrades so that might have had something to do with it.

I know what you mean. Elation, smaller than Triumph, was our first and we had a beautiful time. I guess the first is always the best. Liberty will be our 8th, and I'm looking forward to it.

The Elation was our first as well. We definitely had a blast on that cruise. I've sailed the Triumph several times, and will be back on her next Saturday. Not sure why exactly, but we LOVE the Triumph. It just seems like the perfect size for us. I've never sailed the Liberty though, and a very good friend of mine just got off her a few weeks ago and said it was his favorite ship yet.

Yea I like the Triumph no complaints AT ALL...will try the Liberty next

month :)

My main complaint about the Triumph, was the smell of smoke throughout the Promonade (5th deck). Some of the activities were held just outside the casino, and I couldn't handle it. Being an ex smoker, I think I'm more sensitive. But if you are a smoker, you won't mind the smell.

The aft show room (the comedy club), didn't smell of smoke inside it, but there was one waiter that smelled like he hadn't taken a shower in days. I won't say where he appeared to be from because it's not politically correct.
