So I've been on the cruises and done all the usual things....Beach, snorkeling, diving, horseback riding, tropical birds and animals, etc...are there any new and different excursions? Day classes? cultural things?

You could hire a local driver to show you all his favorite places and offer you a bit of culture, he may even have an auntie willing to make you lunch. It is worth noting, Roatan is a mix of people, some are Garifina, some are descendants of from the British Caymans and some are from the mainland of Honduras, culture on the island is wide ranging thing. :0) A hired driver would more than likely be an islander who speaks English or that crazy made up island language at home.

I can confirm that Blue Harbor is incredible! Nature at its best. It's also cheap.

If you are into fishing, there's a new "hands on fishing" boutique company:

April 12th is a great celebration day for the Garifuna people in Punta Gorda:

I've been there on April 12th last year, very interesting and great food.

Can't get more cultural than this.

But if you land in Punta Gorda on any given Sunday, you're going to like it.

If you like driving, you can rent a car or scooter and just drive east to Paya Bay, great scenery and road. Paya Bay is a fantastic resort, you can just get in, have lunch, enjoy their beaches.

I recommend renting a vehicle and roaming around the island. There's also a Jeep rental in west end. http://roatan4x4.com

If you are into diving, there's a shark dive in Roatan. No cage, they're reef sharks and we humans aren't on their menu.

Heading to Punta Gorda if you've never been can be a great experience that is off the beaten path a little more. The Blue Harbor is great if you like that sort of experience. Shark Dive, depending on if you're a diver and how long/what time you are in port. The Arch family iguana farm, photography course (if you like photography), a trip by boat to some of the other islands that are part of the bay islands- like cayos cochinos, pigeon cay, etc.
