Haven question

Just curious about who should be clearing out any dirty dishes from our room.. When the steward comes in to turn down the room he always leaves the dirty (and empty) plates on the table. Is that normal?

Usually the butler handles room service including removing dishes. Some butlers will do this automatically, but others will not. It all kind of depends on what has happened to them in the past - if they have had passengers who complained when they removed the dishes with half eaten food that it turns out the passenger still wanted the butler would be more hesitant to just automatically remove the dishes. Call your butler and let him know when you are done with your room service dishes so he can come take them away, otherwise, if there is any food left on the dishes he may think you are saving it for later and leave the dishes.
